Potters poised to grab Ghana winger

Tue 19 Aug, 06:00 PM

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is closing in on the season-long loan signing of Lokomotiv Moscow and Ghana winger Haminu Dramani.Pulis completed his sixth capture of the summer when Southampton's Andrew Davies put pen to paper on a four-year deal early on Tuesday, and there has been reports that a forward player is close to becoming the seventh.

That player has now been revealed as the versatile Dramani, who can play on either wing or up front. The pacy 22-year-old only signed a four-year deal with Lokomotiv in June 2007 but it is believed he is now on his way to the Britannia Stadium after catching the eye of Stoke's scouting team.

Tony Pulis hinted earlier on Tuesday that he was looking to replace Richard Cresswell on the left wing and Dramani could well be signed in time to face Aston Villa this weekend, depending on a work permit.

Dramani's agent is quoted as telling Ghanasoccernet: "Haminu trianed with Stoke this morning and we expect the deal to be finshed within 24 hours.

"I am here at the Stoke training ground and he is still showing the qualities they saw in him two weeks ago."

The 5ft 8in star made his Ghana debut as a 19-year-old and has gone to make 27 appearances, scoring three times. He played for Genclerbirligi in Turkey before moving to Russian Cup holders Lokomotiv in a £3million deal.

Stoke will still be allowed to loan two players from Premier League clubs after landing Dramani as there are no limits on the amount of foreign loans a side can make.

  1. think tony has done some good signings but not to sure about why he isnt trying to get us a defensive midfielder it showed against bolton that we were short of sommat . conna blame us for fost goal but for 1 man to out jump 2 of the biggest defenders in the league for the second was a shambles . if we can capture 1 or 2 well known names at a decent price and not be in relegation zone come jan , maybe coates will dig deep to get more well knowns in to keep us up .
come tony/coates make the right decisions please dont let us be the whipping boys . we might not get another chance for another 30 years

From up the potters :), on Wed 20 Aug 9:47AM
  2. looks like Pulis is strengthening up Stoke quite well at the moment he seems to be making
some half decent signings for the positions we need most,
Lets get them all fit and see how they gel together,
Am feeling a little better now he has shored up the defense which I felt let us down against Bolton,
Lets see how Dramani links up with Fuller and Kitson it could be quite exciting.
That will be the biggest test on Saturday against Villa but I think we have to give all the new signings
time to settle then we will see if we will sink or swim as there will be no second chances and im sure Pulis is well aware of that,
Even so it would be a huge relief if Stoke managed to take the points on Saturday but we can all dream,
I think realistically if we do not loose would be a great achievement and I think everyone would be happy with a draw and overjoyed with a win.
Cant wait to see a full house at the Brit in full voice bring it on.
