Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has hailed his side's increased firepower after their encouraging start to the new season.Defender David Wheater may have opened the scoring in Saturday's opening day victory over Tottenham, but it was rejuvenated striker Mido who finished of his former club.
And with record signing Afonso Alves, Jeremie Aliadiere and Tuncay Sanli also in good form, Southgate is confident there is more to come.
He told the club's official website: "The great thing is we now look like we can score two goals in a game, where last season we would have only scored one.
"Jeremie has looked as a good as anybody in pre-season. Tuncay worked his socks off and was not happy coming off, but impact substitutions are very important, especially at this part of the season.
"Under normal circumstances, Afonso would have finished the chances he was given, but he will score goals. We have got four strikers who can score goals, and that gives the team confidence."
