Black Cats Close To Silvestre Deal

Tue 19 Aug, 06:09 PM

Sunderland are close to a £750,000 deal for Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre.

The former France international has been with United for nine years now.

But his first-team chances were going to be restricted this season and it appears he has decided to leave, although not for Manchester City as had been rumoured.

  4. Silvestre will be welcomed by the fans at SOL. We need quality players, and although our most urgent need is for strikers, any player who strengthens the side is always a welcome addition.

  5. he's a clueless donkey. good riddens. never positioned properly. just boots the ball all way up to the right side of the field every time. 750K is the right price.

  6. Best bargain I've ever seen (not seen any at all, really). With players being sold on high notes and demanding extravagant pays, Silvestre is a classic!

However, the only reason why his price is so low is because both Sir Alex and Keane are still on good grounds, and Sir Alex wants Keane to succeed. So he, really, gave him a class player from which to build a foundation for Sunderland.

  7. That's a bargain if I've ever seen one. Best signing by Keane value-wise for the entire summer.
