Former Celtic striker John Hartson could be in line for a coaching role at SPL new-boys Hamilton Academical.

Hartson retired from the game after being released by West Brom in January, and now works as a media pundit.

However, despite beginning their first season back in the top flight after almost two decades with two wins out of two, Accies boss Billy Reid believes that his team could use the experience of the ex-Arsenal and West Ham striker, who scored 205 goals in 419 competitive matches over the course of his 15 year career.

Reid said: "We knew John was interested in the coaching side and we'd love to have him on board.

"He has vast experience and it would be great to bring in someone of his calibre.

"His work and family commitments would restrict it to one day a week but the young players will learn a lot.

"Hopefully they can do some finishing exercises and benefit from a guy whose goal record and movement was fantastic.

"I think he feels this is the right place for him as we have so many good youngsters."

  5. Is he not better going to celtic as there strikers are having trouble scoring at the moment. If he was to come out of retirement and play for celtic he would be far better than what they have got.
