The highly-rated prop (pictured) has been out of action for the last six months after severely damaging his shoulder while on international duty with Scotland during the Six Nations win over Italy in February.

"The way the season ended for me personally was really disappointing because I felt I was playing some of the best rugby of my career," Jacobsen said.

"It was magic to see the boys do so well, but it was frustrating as well not being a part of it. So I'm just glad to be back fit."

He dded: "It has been six months since I had the operation. It has been the longest period I've been out of rugby since I started playing.

"It is just going to be good to be back on the field with the boys. I've done a lot of training on my own and a lot of rehab, so it is good just to be back amongst it again."

Meanwhile, full-back Jim Thompson is expected to be out for a few weeks with a knee injury.

The 24-year-old, who was an ever present during the IRB Nations Cup with Scotland A, suffered the injury while on duty with Scotland 7s at the end of last season.
