Eeckhout wins GP Stad Zottegem

Niko Eeckhout (AN Post-Sean Kelly) battled illness to win a bunch sprint and take glory at the GP Stad Zottegem in Belgium.
Racing in his home country, Eeckhout pipped Dane Martin Pedersen (Team Capinordic) and Frenchman Cyril Lemoine (Skil-Shimano) to victory in the 192.3 km single-day road race.
But it was not plain sailing for the Belgian rider who was suffering from a stomach bug and vomited mid-race.
Dutchman Juergen Roelandts (Silence-Lotto) finished fourth.
