City wrap up Velicka move

Wed, 19 Aug 16:50:16 2009

Bristol City have completed the season-long loan signing of Rangers striker Andrius Velicka.

The 30-year-old arrives at Ashton Gate to add extra depth to Gary Johnson's attacking options and goes straight into the squad to face QPR on Tuesday. The Lithuania international joined Rangers in 2008 following a successful loan spell with Hearts, but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by with the Ibrox club.

"I think all players are disappointed when you're not playing so maybe here I will get the chance to play more games and score more goals," Velicka told City's official website.

"I enjoyed my time but sometimes you need to move. I need to get in a game and we will see how I adjust."
