Bristol City boss Gary Johnson fears on-loan Rangers striker Andrius Velicka is set for a long spell on the sidelines as he awaits the results of a scan on a knee injury.

The 30-year-old Lithuania international sustained the injury when challenging for the ball during his debut in Tuesday's 1-0 home win over QPR at Ashton Gate.

He twisted awkwardly before collapsing to the ground just five minutes after his arrival as a second-half substitute.

"It's terrible for him. It looks like he'll be out for some time," Johnson told the club's official website.

"Our thoughts are with Andrius, especially so soon after joining the club and five minutes into his debut. What bad luck."
