BMW Sauber's Christian Klien was fastest on the second day of Formula One testing at sunny Spanish venue Jerez ahead of Sebastien Vettel in the Red Bull.
Vettel, who became the youngest driver to win a grand prix in the wet at Monza for Toro Rosso at the weekend, joins Red Bull next season and with his future team on the RB4.
The majority of the teams took part after the 'Young Driver Day' on Tuesday, with eight cars speeding around the 4.423km track.
The squads focused upon developing aerodynamic packages and set-up configurations ahead of the final four races of the season, while some also tried out their Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems to be used from 2009.
Klien recorded a best time of 1:19.537 in the F1.08.
Young Swiss Sebastien Buemi, who is competing to take over from Vettel in the Toro Rosso STR3 next season, was third quickest.
Gary Paffett tested for McLaren and put the MP4-23 fourth in the lists ahead of Kamui Kobayashi for Toyota and Luca di Grassi for Renault.
Alex Wurz, 1.5 seconds off the pace with Honda, was two seconds faster than Kazuki Nakajima in the Williams.
Testing continues until Friday.

Oh, and by the way, David Coulthard is new Jacques Villeneuve (or is that Tati?)
No - he's the new Jeremy Clarkson, ... err
;~))
Massa? - He's the new Jacques Villeneuve.....
Always hoping for someone new. The gress is always greener on the other side of the fence, blah, blah, blah. How about Sticking with someone long enough for them to learn the tracks, not to mention the equipment! Development is not what it used to be...Too much money and pressure involved to perform at once....SOmetimes the cream does not rise right to the top Look at Hamilton, Blew it late last season for the Championship. Will probably be in a dog fight to the end this season. Already, there is talk of the "New" drivers being the hottest property's....Massa is still young as well...
He's the next Sebastian Vettel....
He drova jag a few years ago, will make it one day, when he stars shaving as for the next SV. that statment doesn't make any sense, the next Schumacher would would be better as SV has only won one race.

He's the next Sebastian Vettel....
