A former great classic of the World Rally Championship will be the setting for the Intercontinental Rally Challenge's tenth round next week, when the IRC competitors gather for their penultimate race of the season at Rally Sanremo.
There is no doubt that the asphalt roads appearing on the renowned Italian event's itinerary will once again confirm its reputation. Two days or rallying await the crews, including a first leg mostly run at night, and a second leg beginning early in the morning and concluding late in the afternoon.
The start is scheduled to take place on Friday September 25th at 6pm. The IRC competitors will face four stages on Day One, the last being the Cuori test and its daunting 44 kilometres.
Saturday September 26th adds five more tests for Day Two, making for a tally of only nine stages overall... but what incredible stages they are. The 2009 edition of Rally Sanremo will count 506 kilometres, of which 202 are timed runs.
