Arsenal midfielder Francesc Fabregas has categorically denied reports that he has turned down a £35,000 a week pay rise to stay at the club.
The News of the World claimed that the Spain international had rejected a weekly wage offer of £90,000, signaling his intention to leave the Emirates.
The player, however, issued a terse response.
"A newspaper report suggesting that I have rejected a new contract is untrue," the 21-year-old told the club website.
"The article is just mischief-making.
"Everybody knows I have a long-term contract and that I am happy here. I'm focused on doing my best for Arsenal."
Fabregas joined Arsenal from Barcelona's youth team as a 16-year-old and has been linked with a return to Spain with either Barca or Real Madrid.

He needs a world class midfield enforcer. We are still the harlem globetrotters of the premiership.
Unfortunately, something tells me the man is planning an exit... Why are we hearing all these speculations... Its an old cliche, but there is no smoke without fire... and personally... He would be the only letting himself down if he goes.
BTW- Has any heard of any spectacular headlines concering ... Whatshisface... erm ....Hleb?!?!
As I thought!
Cesc is already good and at high stage @ Emirates..first-team choice by Wenger..
If he travel to R.Madrid or Barca..he might compete with another great midfielder there..
take a look at T.Henry..he's not at his best performance..will he come to Man City soon...?
Cesc will be the captain next couple of month..
David Villa..
fabregas is a legeng and arsenal is a great club in england and the world as a whole, so why always other clubs don"t grum players like henry, flamini, fabregas. fabregas stay cool arsenal is your club. alimamy kays.
He will not be at Arsenal next year unless you win the premier league....don't make me laugh or the ECL ......stop it my sides are splitting..
NO ONE CAN TAKE OUR BOY AWAY FROM US NOW!!!!!! NO WAY
I'd like to see him stay at Arsenal, quality player and could help lead Arsenal to more silverware in the coming years. It would be good for the Premier League too if he does stay. But even if he does, at least you have Ramsey awaiting, that boy will become truly world class... lucky buggers ^_^
United fan.
he will not leave arsenal because Arsenal plays football for his passing qualities and Real madrid doesn't.Barcelona is the only other fit for him.He will probably go there in 6 , 7 years so arsenal fans rejoice he isn't going anywhere soon!Also- he has Henry, Pires , others that have left arsenal and look how happy they are now...he is not stupid.
Fabregas will stay only if the club get there act together but if the club do get there act together cesc will stay and be a legend!!!!!!
He's one of the best in the world. You could see that in EURO 2008. When Spain were looking off the pace and lacklustre, Fabregas came on, and changed the game.
I hope he doesn't leave Arsenal.
Hi going nowhere...Cesc loves Arsenal and Wenger, Arsenals future captain and leader of our new super youngsters is staying for life
he won't go to barca, he already expressed his love for real madrid
soon or leter he will go back to barca!!
