Darius Defoe (pictured) led the scoring with 26 points and nine rebounds while Joe Chapman weighed in with 20 points, avenging the overtime defeat to Guildford Heat just 24 hours earlier.

The victory put the Eagles within touching distance of early season pace-setters Sheffield Sharks, who beat Glasgow Rocks by ten-points on Friday.

League newcomers Essex Pirates claimed their first away victory with a 88-82 triumph over Worthing Thunder.

Taner Adu inspired the win with 29 points while Alan Metcalfe contributed 21 points with an attention-grabbing all-round display.

London Capital, who struggled so badly last season, banked their first win of the season with a narrow 85-82 victory over Leicester Riders.

Scores were tied going into the final minute when Ibrahim Gariba made his presence felt with a game-winning contribution.

In total Gariba banked 30 points plus seven rebounds and four steals - including the winning free throw with just three seconds remaining.
