WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko will go up against American Kevin Johnson in Berne, Switzerland on December 12 in what will be his third title defence this year.
Ukrainian Klitschko, whose brother Vladimir holds the IBF, IBO and WBO crowns, retained his WBC title with a 10th round TKO over previously undefeated challenger Cristobal Arreola last month.
That victory was Klitschko's third since returning to the ring in 2008 following an injury-induced retirement in 2005.
"I feel fully fit. I cannot wait to get back into the ring," Klitschko said in a statement.
"Kevin Johnson is dangerous. He has already fought 23 times, is undefeated and is technically superior to Arreola."
Klitschko, 38, has a record of 38-2, while undefeated Johnson, 30, has 22 wins and a draw.

lewis refused a rematch with iron fist remember..because he lost the first 5 rounds last time!!
why do people think haye is good is it beceause they read it in the sun.he has done nothing only mouth off and never will.klitschko would smack him like a child.
the klit sisters will carry on fighting the bum a month club until they fight david haye a fast hungry heavy and dont say the klit sisters already were going to fight haye and he pulled out ,as an injury is an injury
Another punching bag indeed and another payday, but anything can happen in heavyweight boxing anytime. Who would have ever thought that a guy like Rahman could knock out Lennox Lewis. Here's some food for thought.
Friedrich Welke, Florianopolis, Brazil
who the hell is Kevin Johnson? The guy's record is full of bums. Why is Vitali fighting cretins like Johnson? They should be fighting guys like Alexander Povetkin, Denis Boytsov, Nikolay Valuev (after he has finished off Haye),... maybe include Eddie Chambers in the list. etc.
the klitschos are worthy champions who are making opponents look bad so dont disrespect them.....haye is running scared...the yanks and brits do not own the heavyweight scene so get real and stop ya crying....!!
How can this fight even get as far as purse bids? the only recognisable name on Johnson's record was a 41 year old Bruce Seldon who'd already been beaten 6 times.Johnson has stopped only 9 of his 22 opponants (mainly by tko) I make that a ko percentage a little over 39% so he has no puch.Talk about a soft defence,if this one was being fought in my back garden I'd shut the curtains, match ups like this are destroying the sport.
Another punch bag to stand on the end of that long jab, this will be as much fun to watch as fish rotting
