Simpson: Confidence is growing

Macclesfield assistant manager Gary Simpson is confident his team will prove themselves when they face high-flying Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.

The Silkmen have only lost one of their past five league games but now face a tricky home test against Daggers, who are second in the League Two table, a point behind Bournemouth.

Their next few games will also see them travel to Aldershot and entertain the Cherries, and Simpson knows that will be a true test of their young side.

"We've done well in the last five games against sides around us in the league," he told the club`s official website. "Now we have to show what we can do in a run of three games against more fancied opposition.

"We are certainly not getting carried away. But our confidence has certainly been lifted and we'll be looking to build on that on Saturday."
