Troicki opens Moscow defence with win
Serbia's Viktor Troicki opened his defence of the ATP Moscow title with a solid 6-4 6-4 victory over Per Riba.
The second-seed was dominant on his serve throughout the match and only needed a single break in each set to win the match.
It was a welcome return to form for Troicki who had lost seven of his last nine matches.
He faces a sterner test in the quarter-finals though when he will take on fifth seed Alex Bogomolov Jr. who just edged past Mikhail Kukushkin 6-4 3-6 6-4 after saving 12 of 14 break points in the match.
Three-time winner Nikolay Davydenko also safely advanced thanks to a 7-5 6-2 victory over Teymuraz Gabashvili.
