Roeder desperate for Coventry win

Mon 19 Nov, 12:15 PM

Norwich boss Glenn Roeder has urged his under-performing players to put smiles back on the fans' faces with a win over Coventry on Saturday.Roeder's new charges have gone 11 games without a win and are languishing at the foot of the table, and the former Newcastle boss admits he is ashamed to be seen in the city at the moment.

He told the Eastern Daily Press: "I don't even like walking around the town. I have been in a few times and you are looking around, you don't really want to be seen.

"That is how I feel about football. It is a winning game. The players have to feel like that if they are walking around the town. If you are happy leading a normal social life where we are in the table then it means you do not care enough.

"It's not quite life and death - I know that myself after my own problems with the brain tumour. But you have to win - and our supporters must be absolutely bleeding at the moment, haemorrhaging - and we have to stop it."
