Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Theo Walcott will be sidelined for at least three months with a shoulder injury.
The 19-year-old forward picked up the injury in Berlin during England's training session ahead of their 2-1 international friendly win over Germany.
While commentating on France's 0-0 draw tih Uruguay for French TV channel TF1, Wenger said: "[Theo] dislocated his shoulder during training, he will be out for at least three months."
Walcott was taken to hospital in agony after suffering the dislocation in a freak accident as he fell in the rain at the Olympiastadion.
Although Walcott's shoulder was quickly put back into place, the player was in understandable discomfort when he returned to England's team hotel, where an assessment was made over his return to London.
"We are all very disappointed but the important thing is for Theo to travel home and make a quick recovery," England manager Fabio Capello said.
Walcott has suffered injuries to his shoulder before and is expected to do so throughout his career.

Anyone who scores a hatrick against a top 10 world ranked team is a big name player............................

Maybe we can arrange for Drogba to turn up at the next German training session throw a few coins and even the numbers up a little
International Friendlies are the bane of club managers the world over...lmao wonder what the professor will say on the morrow...England will get crushed....oof don't even think I'll watch it on the telly
Good idea Joel what position would you like to play ?
Dear Fabio, I am up for it and will play anywhere, I am 41 and 100 kg and very keen for a game especially against the Hun, take no prisioners, ehh.
Let's just send in the RAF
I don't think Walcott has earned to be called a 'big name player' yet. At the moment, he is overrated but I hope he can fulfil his predicted potential in the near future.
Who cares about this pointless game. Roll on next weekends premiership matches!!
England is DOOOOOOOOOMED!!!!!
Ah, who cares.
perhaps I should try and get on the team for the match...seems like they need warm bodies.
