Yu Jing run continues in Russia
China's Yu Jing continued her perfect record at the opening ISU Speed Skating World Cup of the season in Russia taking 500m gold for the second time in as many days.
The 26-year-old began the new campaign in perfect style on Friday winning the first of two 500m races ahead of Maki Tsuji and Thijsje Oenema who tied for silver.
And she made it two out of two a day later in Chelyabinsk this time edging out Korea’s Sang≠-Hwa Lee in the second 500m race with Germany’s Jenny Wolf in third.
Meanwhile two-time Olympic champion Ireen Wust took ladies’ 1500m gold by nearly half a second with Christine Nesbitt and Marrit Leenstra second and third respectively.
