Tottenham manager Juande Ramos may be tempted to make a move for Ajax full-back Urby Emanuelson during the January transfer window.Spurs are keen on shoring up their defence and the left-sided Holland international is seen as a perfect addition to their problems at the back.

The north London club will be without first-choice left-back Gareth Bale until February and Lee Young-Pyo is seen by Ramos as a squad player.

Emanuelson's agent Brian Birkleef has confirmed that the Premier League outfit have made an approach.

"I have been rung, but I referred them (Tottenham) to Ajax," he said.

Birkleef went on to add in De Telegraaf that Emanuelson would like to move in January: "Yes, he certainly sees a move in January as a possibility."
