Trialists fail to impress Magilton

Wed 19 Dec, 08:45 PM

Jim Magilton is not planning an immediate bid to sign three recent Ipswich Town trialists - as they are not ready for the first team.Poland international Damian Gorawski was among three players looking to earn a contract at Portman Road in the New Year.

But, along with goalkeeper Kenneth Kronholm and Finland Under-21 international Jonas Portin, Gorawski will not be offered terms.

The midfielder played in a behind-closed-doors game last week, and Town boss Magilton will keep a watching brief, rather than make an offer.

"Damian and the others did okay, but anyone that we bring in needs to be able to go straight into the team and that's not the case at the moment with the three lads," Magilton told the club's official website.

"So for now, we are not going to take our interest any further, but we are not closing the door totally."
