Northampton boss Stuart Gray revealed he has "a potentially exciting transfer on the cards" following his side's 1-0 victory at Gillingham.On-loan Wolves starlet Daniel Jones handed the visitors all three points at Priestfield with a stunning 25-yard free-kick.

But despite revealing he has a striker lined up to bolster the squad, Gray was remaining tight-lipped as to his identity.

"I've got a potentially exciting transfer on the cards that is hopefully going to please the fans," said Gray. "But I'm not going to tell you who it is because it might not happen. We are still looking to strengthen the side and a centre-forward is the priority."

Of the game Gray added: "It was very pleasing to get such an early goal. It gave us confidence from the beginning, it was a great win and I am very pleased to keep a clean sheet - I thought we were going to get one.

"The only thing which was disappointing is that we didn't go on to score another goal or two because we had plenty of chances in the second half and we really should have done better in front of goal."
