Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has revealed his plans to strengthen his squad with more players from the Blue Square Premier division.Stimson, who has added one new face this month with the acquisition of Craig Rocastle from Port Vale, has previously looked outside the Football League to recruit new talent bringing Adam Miller, John Nutter, Stuart Thurgood and Dennis Oli to Priestfield.
Following the 1-0 home defeat to Northampton he said: "Hopefully we can bring a few new faces to the squad in the next couple of days but it is not easy in the transfer window. I don't want to be out priced.
"We need to get a centre half in, even more so now Simon King has got injured. I've got my eye on a couple in the Conference. There are some great players in non-league football. It doesn't matter where you come from. If you are good enough, you'll get in the side."
On the defeat to the Cobblers, Stimson added: "We were unlucky. I felt we deserved a draw but we lacked any clean strike on goal. We lost the game through a fantastic goal from Daniel Jones that would not have looked out of place in the Premier League."
