Carlisle manager John Ward hailed striker Danny Graham after his side climbed up to second place in League One with a 1-0 win over Crewe. It was Graham's strike partner Joe Garner who grabbed the only goal - his 13th of the season - but Ward praised Graham, who has gone 14 games without scoring after grabbing nine in an early season purple patch, after the win.
He said: "Danny did everything but score. When this happens you need to retain confidence. His workload with Joe was fantastic. When the goals come again he will be even happier.
"It was an excellent three points. We had enough chances in the first half to win a couple of games. Everything stuck with the keeper or we found the woodwork."
The Carlisle manager told his players at half-time 'keep believing and something will come.' Garner's goal soon after the interval - converting Zigor Aranalde's cross - arrived during United's best spell in attack.
Ward added: "It opened the game up and Crewe came out to show their threat. It was a really good victory for the team and their work ethic. We have a team full of commitment perseverance and ability."
