Dietmar Hamann has confirmed that Sven Goran Eriksson does want to sign German star Lukas Podolski.

Eriksson is anxiously looking for a new striker and has been linked with a host of big names from across Europe.

Podolski has emerged as of one Eriksson's main targets and Hamann has confirmed his boss wants the Bayern Munich ace.

"Sven asked me what I thought of Lukas," Hamann told the News of the World.

"I told him that Podolski is quick, skilful and dangerous in front of goal.

"Lukas is the striker at the top of Eriksson's wish list. He wants to sign him at all costs."

Last week Bayern insisted that they had no plans to let the 22-year-old depart the Allianz Arena.
