Premier League - Delph secures Leeds loan
Fri, 20 Jan 11:56:00 2012
Fabian Delph has returned to Elland Road after signing a one-month loan deal with Leeds from Premier League Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old midfielder left Simon Grayson's side to join Villa for £6 million in the summer of 2009 but has returned after being made available for loan by Alex McLeish.
Delph was a regular in the Villa midfield in the first half of the season but has not featured for the first-team since mid-December.
Leeds boss Grayson told the club's official website: "As everyone knows Fab is a talented footballer who did very well here and secured himself a big move on the back of what he did.
"This is a great deal for both parties. Fab will get some football and he is the calibre of player that we've been looking to bring in here."
Delph made 46 league appearances in his first spell with the West Yorkshire side and will be available to face Ipswich in the Championship on Saturday, with the deal due to expire on February 25.

cant blame delph !would you really want to be playing for villa under mcleish, rubbish manager is making villa rubbish club..
mcleish how abt been a fan of aston villa or that of a villa player? is it time for you to go and let a proper manager take over,
am sure a new manager will get rid of rubbish like heskey the crooked donkey, dunne, collins, warnock. ireland just to name few, i will say villa will never will anything under mcleish if anything i guarantee we will in the relegation fight.
wake up learner
Well said Robert number 23. I would love us to be splashing millions, I do think much of Bates dealings are ...questionable ? But for me the jury is out until next season when the CVA penalty will have expired and we, the club can hopefully push for a return to the Premiership. If there is no investment for next season then I shall be as condemnatory as anyone else in respect of Ken Bates.
BUT 1 MONTH???? THATS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO GET US BACK TO THE TOP 6 LET ALONE PROMOTION. NOT GOOD ENOUGH IM AFRAID
troy... go support scum.. remember we was in debt 80 mill, league 1.... come back support leeds when we are in the premiership.. go away for now
Pies are now available at half time, on loan.
This is great news!
It's about time we stopped splashing the cash and started utilising the loan players option.
After spending all that money on .............oh, wait a minute
I tell you what! I'm sick to death of Bates and Grayson taking the mickey and robbing us blind! I'm paying for success, trophies, glory and social acceptance for my choice of team / town of birth. I'm not going to another match until we're in the final of the world club team championship against some obscure South American outfit! And then, and only then, will I consider the ticket price value for money! MOT and any other novelty song lyric acronym you can think of!
you know what lads and lasses im fed up of supporting my home city club, crossgates lad, we should all camp outside the thunderdome well whats now just elland road and demand grayson and his master Bates to take a running jump, no more glory days, infact sack the lot start again with the youth, we can handle the changeover but at least we will have people committed to the club, we dont have one loyal player, they all leave us (Howson) some leeds lad eh:: Had enough god rest speedo.
delph is here for a month initially with a veiw to keep him till the end of thje season if all partys are happy
Grayson please grow some B;;;;;;;;ls tell that numpty Bates no pennies no prem
peter h, incorrect. leeds pay 50 %, villa 50 %. a month ???????????? you now now where leeds are going ? its simple, nowhere. plenty of mugs at elland road tomorrow though. he lovin it. you will not get anymore from me bates you c#nt.

Wonder if we can get a Chairman on Loan for a month who will give up one holiday and buy us a decent Centre Back.
i had hoped it would be longer than a month, why not end of the season, with the option to recall him if necessary, i remember watching him at leeds and he showed great potential, hopefully he can rediscover that form there and help leeds move up the table, cause it would be good to have them back in the premier league
Talented kid, but from what I've seen at Villa, just simply not premier league quality.
That's not by the way a disparaging remark against leeds, despite it only being for a month I have no doubt he will be an excellent servant to you again.
I've been saying for a while, he's going to be a great championship player, but a bit like chopra, akinbeye and kevin phillips, he'll never look totally convincing in the PL.
The article indcates he went to villa for £6 million in 09.
Im dumdstruck what happened to the money? how was it spent?
another great buy by the messiah that is martin o'neill...ffs
Not long now before the whole team is made up of loan players.
