Scunthorpe will be without striker Connor Jennings for the visit of Stevenage to Glanford Park.
The 20-year-old, who signed from Stalybridge Celtic a fortnight ago, made his debut against Colchester last week but now faces eight weeks out with a broken metatarsal sustained in training.
With Jennings out, Iron boss Alan Knill is hoping to have top-scorer Bobby Grant back for the game. The nine-goal striker has missed the last three weeks with an ankle injury but Knill is confident that he will be available.
Midfielder Damien Mozika (calf) returned to training this week and could feature while striker Jordan Robertson (hip) and midfielder Michael O'Connor (groin) are both likely to be passed fit.
The Iron are definitely without injured quartet Cliff Byrne (groin), Jimmy Ryan (knee), Matt Godden (hip) and Michael Collins (tendonitis) who are all long-term absentees.
