Johnson dismisses Spurs hammering as `one-off'

Fri, 20 Jan 08:27:33 2012

Adam Johnson does not believe there is any chance of Manchester City repeating their five-goal "humiliation" of Tottenham on Sunday.

The true impact of City's staggering August win at White Hart Lane took a long time to sink in.

Looking back, it is as amazing as any other of the freak results that have littered the season given Tottenham have bounced back to become serious Premier League title contenders.

And, while Johnson is determined City should maintain their perfect home record, the former Middlesbrough man accepts it will be much tougher.

"That was a one-off," he said. "We humiliated them with some of the football we played. I don't think many teams would have got close to us. The passing and movement was staggering.

"But the fact is they have some top players, a squad packed with quality, and are playing much differently now."

  1. Sorry Adam it was us being as bad as City were good.

    No Adebayor (due to loan)

Modric was awful because of the Chelsea thing and the whole squad was hugely down about it all.

We had so many injuries Kranjar was our defensive midfielder!

We had to go Crouch up top (even though his mind set was awful knowing Harry was about to sell him)

And why do you think so many players do so well on debuts? O wait maybe because no managers have seen them play before so have no idea how to set up and the player runs riot for first 60 minutes, unfortunately for us that was more than 1 average player, it was players like Aguero.

Why do you think your form has taken a slight dip? maybe because others have begun to figure you out?

You have the best squad in the prem and will probably win it and beat us, but "humiliate us"?? we were humiliated before the game and before playing Man Utd.
