Nathan Tyson has suffered a minor setback with his groin injury and will miss Derby's trip to Burnley.
Tyson has been plagued by a groin problem since joining the Rams in the summer, making just two starts and two substitute appearances. He started the back-to-back home victories over Leeds and West Ham last month but has sat out the last three matches.
"The scar tissue Nathan has from some of the procedures he has undergone for his groin injury is causing him a little bit of a problem," said manager Nigel Clough. "It's not a long-term thing but he is not quite comfortable enough to get out there on the pitch. We hope this is just a small setback."
Fellow forward Ryan Noble will be included in the squad after rejoining the Rams on loan from Sunderland.
Meanwhile, striker Steve Davies (skull fracture) and midfielder Jeff Hendrick made their comebacks in the Derbyshire Cup this week and could come into Clough's thinking.
Davies wore a protective mask as he played the full 90 minutes in a 4-0 victory over Central Midlands League opponents Pinxton while Hendrick played more than an hour after missing five first-team games with an ankle injury.

L nothing wrong with the training methods what a load of old todge, these players are mostly being injured in the heat of battle on the PITCH.Look at Manchester Utd the injury list their is endless ffs.Cpough knows exactaly what he is at and thats clear as a bell, when he has HIS best 11 on the feild we can and have beaten the best.Injuries are part and parcel of proffesional football,if you have players totally commited in traing matches injuries are a certainy. As for Tyson, better he come back 100pc fit then judge him.I know for a fact he has been badly mismanaged in the past,he totaly destroyed us last year, players with his speed will always suffer hamstring injuries look at Owen,Sturridge,Earnshaw etc etc,Was alex ferguson a fool to sign Owen?????These type of players when fit have us on the edge of our seats. We got him for nowt he not on big wages, the best players and most costly can have an injury in a flash and career over in a flash,Malcolm Christie,Branko Strupar,Giles Barnes to name a few,So get behind the team and manager,COME ON YOU RAMS
Weebil, we have very few injured now and every team is in the same boat or worse, hence our climb up the table.
Not important, Steve Davies is better anyway, Ball and Noble are excellent prospects plus Maguire is doing great in the reserves. We should terminate the contract like Leacock and look to the future. Should take care of Steve's contract though and Green too while we are at it.
watched first day back on sky and they are doing bleep tests
this not right the training methods are rubbish
get rid and get somebody who noes what they doing
before the whole team is fcuked up
What a farce of a signing, hasn't even kicked a ball and he's out for first 5 games of the season!! Easy, easy money. Doesn't Clough ever do any homework on these signings, obvious from Forest day's and fans Tyson simply .not fit for purpose.
WHAT IS IT WITH DERBY AND INJURIES? MUST BE SOMETHING TO DO WITH TRAINING METHODS.
He didnt get the nickname ''sick note'' for nothin at Forest! 6mnths and he will be on his way like commons, good luck like us you will need it.
