Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists games between his side and Manchester United remain as fascinating as ever, despite new title contenders emerging.
The two clubs have often battled for domestic dominance in recent years, but now find the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea also in the hunt for the Barclays Premier League crown.
However, looking ahead to Sunday's clash between the Gunners and United at the Emirates Stadium, Wenger told Arsenal Player: "It's still the same.
"It is not the only game any more because you have Chelsea and Man City coming in, with Liverpool still there. But it is a game that is watched all over the world.
"We do [lift ourselves], we think we are on a similar level. I still think that when we have everybody available we are a strong force in this league.
"That's why it is important that we fight very hard not to drop points."

Whatever the result Arsenal are a long way behind MU and have been for years. When Wenger decided that he didn't like the style of football in England or the behaviour of British players , he ended Arsenal's chances of winning another title. In what is likely to be his last season as the team's manager he will be leaving a highly unsatisfactory squad for the new man.
good points but think you can give up on Chamakh and Arshavin...need rid of them asap.
People are slating Arsenal blah blah blah.. Wait a second, Wenger is doing a fantastic job, just wait till Vermanator, Wilshere get back, oh boy should be fun to watch. Gervinho will back after the cup of nations, maybe Chamakh will get in form and become the man we used to like last season at start. I really hope Arshavin will start playing, he owes the fans a lot.
wages are our big stumbling block. We will continue to loose our best players unless we up the wage cap, perhaps we would keep VP if we upped him to 150kpw, but i cant see us ever getting to that level of wage, even if we do up the wages. The only thing we can count on to keep our best, is loyalty and we all know loyalty works these days. We are loosing out because of financial managment, im hoping this will change once we have paid off the stadium, but even when thats sorted, and we are consistantly making profit, i cant see our wages increasing enough to keep the best. Such is life when big buck owners have warped the whole concept of tranfer fees and wages.
it is so sad to watch arsenal these days, other teams are getting stronger season in season out yet arsenal get weaker season in season out, and for what there is money there to buy. the impression i get is arsen wenger can't buy big names (winners) cause arsenal can't afford the wages, so gooners ur in trouble. I look at mr wenger and he is a fantastic manager but maybe you guys need someone a little braver and upfront with the board, these are new times where in and wenger has not progressed, just cause u built an empire don't mean u have the right to watch it crumble. the board love him cause he makes money, ur a great feeder club arsenal.
Vermaelen and Artea's return is essential if we are to have any hope in this tie. Man U are wobbly just now, but they always come good about this time of year, so we may continue their wobble or we will be the ones they beat to start their march for the league. Cant say im looking forward to this game but i do believe we could nick it. Think though the Tottenham City game will be more entertaining though...heh heh
Mr Wenger, yeh, i hope the world is not watching us get beaten,if you don't get a defensive coach. As you are the Manager, defensive coach and trainer.
not to drop points is the best hope??? and when we have everyone available? well you may just if you buy at least another four quality players. we know how tight you are, so ship out at least twelve moderate to bad players from the squad. stop deluding yourself. players like diaby will always prefer the comforts of the sick bay than being out there and shown up for his lack of application. still i gather arteta and vermaelen are back on sunday which gives us hope. they were the missing ingredient at swansea. without arteta around him, a very talented player like ramsey just made countless errors which made your walcotts and arshavins feel very much at home. you won't win games with players like that charged with your offensive midfield thrust.
