Wed 20 Feb, 10:00 AM

Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson admits he balked at the price Toulouse were asking for forward Johan Elmander in January.Megson confirmed his interest in the Sweden international last month, but was unable to conclude a deal before the transfer window closed.

Reports suggest Bolton were willing to pay £9million for Elmander, but Megson claims Toulouse wanted more than double that sum.

"His club wanted £22million," said Megson in The Sun. "It was never going to happen at that price."
