Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins has not ruled veteran striker Geoff Horsfield out of Saturday's home match with Southampton.Horsfield, on loan from Sheffield United, would have missed the midweek match at Wolves had it not been postponed after straining a hamstring in last Friday's defeat at Stoke.
But Horsfield could be available for an extra game for the Iron if he recovers in time.
Adkins said: "He has proved already with his presence that he's going to be a big player for us.
"What we do not want to do is run the risk of losing him for the next six-to-seven weeks - so it was a good judgmental call not to risk him (at Wolves), to give him every chance of being fit for Saturday."
