New Southampton boss Nigel Pearson insists hard work is the key to his side reversing their poor fortunes - but says there is 'no magic wand'.The former Newcastle coach started his reign in charge of the relegation-battling Saints with a 2-0 defeat at home to Plymouth, bringing their winless run to six games, and Pearson admits there is no easy solution to his side's problems.
"It is a very difficult situation and there is no magic wand," he told the club's official website. "It is a matter of getting down to hard work, assessing what needs to be done and doing it.
"I have told the players there is no point sulking about the situation. The only way we will get people onside is by endeavour and battling through.
"It is up to me and the staff and the players to get us out of this situation. The only way is to accept our situation and work through it."
