Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws hopes to seal a loan deal for Chelsea teenager Ben Sahar in time for Saturday's home match with Cardiff. The Owls manager revealed earlier this week that Israel international Sahar was the striker he wanted as cover for the injured Akpo Sodje.
Laws said: "We're hoping that he's going to come in before the weekend.
"We've had a chat and I think he's looking to get here, but I can't tell you any more than that at this stage."
Sahar, 18, who made five first-team appearances for Chelsea last season, spent the first half of this campaign on loan at QPR. He made his full debut for Israel as a 17-year-old.
Owls' summer signing Sodje will undergo ankle surgery this week and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
