Wed 20 Feb, 04:45 PM

Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is not prepared to discuss terms on a contract extension until the end of the season. The Amsterdam club are keen to extend their deal with the highly-rated 25-year-old custodian, which expires in the summer of 2010.

Ajax are thought to be lining up a three-year extension for the Holland international, but Stekelenburg told Voetbal International magazine that he would prefer to concentrate on Ajax's title bid before sitting down to discuss his future.

"I want to use all my energy for the last games," he said. "After that we will see further.

"I don't think the race for the championship is done yet."

Ajax sit second in the Eredivisie at present, nine points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven with nine games remaining.
