Bolton manager Gary Megson has revealed that Toulouse wanted £22 million for forward Johan Elmander in January.
Megson was interested in the Sweden international following the sale of Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea, but could not negotiate a deal before the transfer window closed.
"His club wanted £22million," Megson said. "It was never going to happen at that price."
Reports at the time suggested that Wanderers were willing to stump up £9m for Elmander.
However the Ligue 1 outfit, three points from safety at present, were unwilling to part with a man who has now scored 10 goals in 21 league games on the cheap.
