Alexander chasing North End win

Thu 20 Mar, 04:45 PM

Preston legend Graham Alexander insists he will adopt a professional attitude when he makes an emotional return to Deepdale with Burnley. The veteran Scotland defender, 36, made 400 appearances for North End before being sold to the Clarets in a shock £100,000 switch last August.

He had just started his ninth season with the Lilywhites but is determined to make a winning return as Burnley seek to reignite their Championship play-off bid.

"It will be a little bit weird going back having spent so many happy years there," Alexander told Clarets World.

"It was weird playing them here at Turf Moor so to go back to Deepdale having spent so many happy years there it will be even more so.

"I have to be professional, I'm looking for three points. I think Preston are safe now and obviously we want the points to get into the play-offs."
