Macclesfield Town manager Keith Alexander is expecting a tough game when his side make the short trip to Stockport County on Friday. The Silkmen have won their last two games to give themselves an excellent chance of survival in League Two but Alexander has admitted they face a big challenge against Jim Gannon's promotion-chasing side.

He told the Macclesfield Express: "We couldn't be facing a more difficult team than Stockport at the minute. Right now, they are the best side in League Two.

"We're expecting a hard game because they're playing really well. Jim Gannon has done an excellent job there and, if I'm honest, I would prefer not to be playing them at this time."
