Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd has confirmed the club have requested a personal hearing with the FA before deciding on John Eustace's fate.Eustace was given a three-game ban for his sending-off against Stoke but now faces an additional two-game suspension and a fine after being reported by referee Rob Styles for improper conduct.
Boothroyd decided not to appeal the initial decision despite insisting he "didn't think it was a sending-off" but is hoping to keep the suspension down to three games.
He said: "What we've asked for is a personal hearing and we will go and state our case.
"It would be a massive loss to lose John for such a length of time and I'm sure common sense will prevail.
"The people at the FA aren't daft and they'll make the correct decision I'm sure."
