Connor keen to impress for Robins

Thu 20 Mar, 06:00 PM

Cheltenham Town striker Paul Connor has vowed to fill the void left by Steve Brooker after he returned to Bristol City.Brooker was recalled by parent club City this week after scoring five goals in his final six matches for the League One side.

That run ensured Connor has been restricted to a bit-part of late but now the 29-year-old striker, who is pencilled in to start against Luton on Saturday, is keen to take his chance.

"Sometimes you have to be patient and hopefully my chance will come at Luton," Connor told the Gloucestershire Echo.

"There are some big games coming up, especially Luton away and Crewe away so it should be a good time to be playing.

"The gaffer (Keith Downing) has been happy with what I've done when I've come on in games and what I've been doing in training so that's what matters."
