Determined Douglas prepared to fight

Thu 20 Mar, 04:45 PM

Jonathan Douglas is determined to "work his way back" into the Leeds squad after missing a large portion of the season with a knee injury. The Republic of Ireland international midfielder has been ruled out since December but could make his comeback to the first team shortly after playing 90 minutes for the reserves in midweek.

He told the club's official website: "Saturday might be too soon. But I'd like to get back in and around the squad.

"Prutts [David Prutton] and Jonny Howson have probably been our two best players over the past few months, and I'll have to work my way back in.

"I'm just glad to be back playing, no one likes being out, and three months is a long time.

"I hope to keep my fitness up and see what happens. My aim is to play a few games between now and the end of the season."
