Stockport boss Jim Gannon has revealed he will not stand in the way of Ashley Williams if the defender wants to join up with the Wales squad.Williams has been called up into John Toshack's squad for the first time ahead of their friendly against Luxembourg on Wednesday, but is also due to play in County's game with Wycombe on Monday.
Gannon, however, is keen for the 23-year-old to cherish his international call-up and has admitted he would be prepared to leave him out of the game with Wanderers.
He told the Stockport Gazette: "His call-up is well warranted and well deserved. I've been told we can play him on Monday but it would be unfair to the player if he wants to go to the training camp.
"We have to consider his position. If there is any chance that he'll be playing then I'd like for him to go to the Wales camp and be fully fresh so he can get the most out of that experience."
