Andy Butler insists the Scunthorpe squad will not give up its Championship relegation battle despite now being six points adrift of safety.Defender Butler was on target in last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Wolves at Molineux and is confident the Iron are capable of taking the race down to the wire.

Butler told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "We've got to try and keep a positive frame of mind. There's no point in saying 'we're not good enough' because we've done enough to prove we are capable of being here.

"Results are going against us and things do add up, but we'll keep going. The gaffer keeps us positive and that is what we have to remain. We've still got points to play for.

"These are testing times, and it's going to be difficult, but the fans have got to stay with us and cheer us on. No-one in the team is going to give up and he whole squad is behind each other.

"The games were others slip up, we have to make sure we're there to pick up the points."
