Thu 20 Mar, 01:45 PM

Doncaster Rovers' out-of-favour defender Graeme Lee has joined League Two side Shrewsbury Town on loan until the end of the season.Lee has been unable to force himself into Sean O'Driscoll's squad this season following a series of frustrating injuries.

Steve Roberts, Adam Lockwood, Matthew Mills and Gordon Greer have all had the chance to stake their claim for the centre-back spots in Lee's absence.

The 29-year-old, who scored the winning goal for Doncaster in last season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final, has just returned from a one-month loan spell at Hartlepool.

Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson told the club's official website: "He's played a lot of games and has been involved in promotions and he knows this league.

"Hopefully he can come in and have a good look at what we are doing and we can have a look to see if there is something more long-term that we can do. I've seen a lot of Graeme over the years and know what he is all about and he is the type of character that I want to bring in."
