Macc duo back for Hatters clash

Thu 20 Mar, 05:00 PM

Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander is boosted by the return of Neil Ashton and Michael Symes for the trip to derby rivals Stockport. The pair were ineligible to play against Shrewsbury last weekend due to the terms of their deals which saw them join Macclesfield from the Shrews.

Having missed the 2-1 home win, defender Ashton and striker Symes bolster a Silkmen squad buoyed by two successive wins.

Forward Martin Gritton should be fit enough for a place on the substitutes' bench after overcoming a hamstring injury, while on-loan midfielder James Ashmore has returned to Sheffield United.

Macc boss Alexander said: "Friday night is a big game but Stockport are flying and the matches we need to win are against the teams in and around us in the league."
