AC Milan have confirmed Brazilian playmaker Kaka sustained a thigh injury in their defeat to Sampdoria on Wednesday evening.The 26-year-old was substituted after only nine minutes of Wednesday's game, having only just recovered from a recurring back problem which flared up in Sunday's defeat to Roma.

The Brazilian did gym and physiotherapy work on Thursday morning and his condition will be further evaluated on Friday.

The FIFA World Player of the Year is set to miss out on this Sunday's Serie A trip to Torino, and is a doubt for Brazil's friendly with Sweden in London next week.
