Peter Ridsdale has turned his attention to "strengthening the squad" after the club were saved from the brink of financial ruin. The Bluebirds' pending legal dispute with Langston has prevented them from raising the money to finance any additions to Dave Jones' squad.
But City can now step up their search after the High Court rejected the Swiss investment bank's claims that the £24million in loan notes owed should be paid back immediately.
Former Cardiff strikers Rob Earnshaw and Michael Chopra are among the players to have been linked with moves to the FA Cup semi-finalists.
Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo: "Now, at last, I can concentrate on strengthening the squad.
"We have been working hard all along to bring in the right players - over the last couple of days alone we have been knocked back for six players - but the court case meant finances were difficult."
