Colchester boss Geraint Williams is back in the loan market as the injury crisis deepens at Layer Road.Captain Karl Duguid on Tuesday became the latest addition to the treatment room when he suffered a knee-ligament injury against Hull.

Teddy Sheringham, Chris Coyne and Pat Baldwin have resumed training but will not be fit to face Norwich on Saturday, so Williams needs reinforcements.

"We're actively looking for a loan player before Saturday," he said.

"We have a few players doing light running but they are not match fit yet. It's all hands to the pump and we will see who is available for Saturday."
