UEFA Cup - Bolton and Everton fined by UEFA

Bolton and Everton were among four sides fined by UEFA following disturbances in the UEFA Cup's round of 32.

Atletico Madrid were fined 30,000 Swiss francs (around £15,000) "for the throwing of missiles and fireworks by spectators, crowd disturbances and insufficient organisation" during their second-leg game against Bolton.

Wanderers, who won the tie before going out to Sporting Lisbon in the next round, were fined 10,000 Swiss francs (£5,000) for crowd disturbances at the same match.

Norwegian side SK Brann were handed a 15,000 Swiss francs (£7,500) fine "for pitch invasions by spectators and the throwing of missiles and fireworks" during their first-leg meeting with Everton.

Their English opponents, who also progressed to the next round only to be beaten on penalties by Fiorentina, were fined 5,000 Swiss francs (£2,500) for the same offences.

Atletico Madrid, Brann and Bolton can all appeal within three days of receiving the disciplinary body's writen reasoning.

Thursday's planned hearing into allegations of racist chanting by Zenit St Petersburg fans during their team's UEFA Cup round of 16 win over Marseille was postponed by the disciplinary body.

UEFA said a disciplinary investigator had been asked to carry out further investigations.
