Norwegian cross country skiers Petter Northug and Marit Bjoergen were left celebrating gold medals in their cross-country skiing World Cup races in Falun, Sweden.
Northug (pictured) produced a blistering sprint up the final stretch to overtake Italy's Giorgio di Centa and take gold in the men's 20km mass start.
The triple world champion finished in 57 minutes 32.2 seconds, 2.6 seconds ahead of Di Centa, while Sweden's Daniel Rickardsson came third, a further 7.6 seconds back. Overall World Cup winner Dario Cologna was fourth.
In the women's 10km mass start race Bjoergen powered to the front from the start, and though newly-crowned World Cup champion Justyna Kowalczyk stayed with her for the first half of the race, Bjoergen pulled clear to finish 25.1 seconds clear in a time of 31:14.4
