Premier League - Chelsea coy on Ancelotti future
Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay stopped short of guaranteeing Carlo Ancelotti would still be manager next season but insisted the club were "happy" with the season so far.
Gourlay reiterated that Ancelotti's contract runs for a further season, and said the club understood the league title could not be won every year.
However, when asked directly if Ancelotti would stay on, Gourlay did not give a straight answer.
"All you can say is that Carlo has a contract with the club until 2012," he said on Radio Five Live's Sportsweek.
"We're delighted with Carlo and what he's achieved so far. These things can be pretty fickle. Carlo has come in and won the double last season. Yes, the expectations are high, but they are high at many clubs around Europe and we've got to be realistic.
"Let's see where we are at the end of May."

Keep Carlo for as long as possible.... he is one of the best in the business and of all time.:...
Chelsea's games in CL against United will seal his fate. A win and he will stay on, a loss and he will be ''thanked'' at the end of the season..
typical useless media; now happy = coy, and if he says Ancellotti is safe then ye call it the dreaded vote of confidence.
Sir Alex and Arsene wegner they didnt win the league each season when in charge and the champions league but they still in charge and i never heard anything in media about get them changed because their teams went on a poor run..so why all that talk about ancelotti..i guess chelsea must get matured about coaches and stop firing coaches each 2 years when they win nothing.. my best coach is for sure Mourinho but this guy have no loyality to stay too long in 1 club..if i need a coach like sir alex.. i wont pick mourinho even he is the Special one..
COME BACK JOSE COME BACK HOME TO US THE SPECIAL ONE WE NEED YOU.........................
Well said Rushad. I agree totally.
Bring back Morinio
We have one of the best coach'es in the world, if not the best and has a lots of experience guys, don't forget that. Carlo Ancelotti has experienced as football player and understands bad periods in football. He was so patient when he was under presser , if you remember. Mourinho was trying to do something for the club, but Ancelotti is doing good job so far. We r in the quarter finals and humbling in the PL, playing our football again hopefully. We have all the players hungry for something again. He brought the competition in the squad and it means the man knows what he is doing :) !
The team hungry again, players cant wait to play our football, attacking football. "Lets don't think about the past its the past" says Ancelotti.
Brazilian Ronaldo was playing for him once and many others of the best players in the world. They all know what Ancelotti capable of and Chelsea also. I've never seen Chelsea hungry like they r now. Lets support Chelsea and not thinking about the past.
We r back!!!!!!! )))))))
Like Rushad said Carlo should stay for many years. The only thing that im a bit mad at Carlo is that he rarely gives some play time to the youth especially McEachran. This kid has got fantastic talent for his age.
sack capello
is it not time to sack all these seria a managers
Rushad..comment 2 i concur your remarks ... hopefully abramma will also see sense
give the man a chance he has only been with us one season with the troubles off the pitch and the injuries to key players he has had to put up with i think the man has done a good job . lets get the team back fighting fit again for next season and watch him then!!!!!
Chris you are glory hunter not a Chelsea fan if you say that...you should know about our modest history and where we were a decade ago to spout such stuff...Carlo Ancelotti should stay at Chelsea for many years and make our next generation of players ...
